National St George's Day Parade - Windsor Castle

April 21, 2018

The following are reports of the day from two of our Band members, enjoy!

When we got to Windsor Castle the main band played many pieces of great music. After a while, all of the bands lined up into two ranks. Then, two bands were altering by playing different pieces of music in turn. As the bands were playing, Bear Grylls and Princess Beatrice greeted the other bands and Queen Scouts. Soon after, lots of people gathered inside and outside of the chapel where there was a short speech. After that, all of the Queen Scouts renewed their promises. Soon after, all of the bands marched down the road along with our percussion section drumming. And that was our day at Windsor Castle.

It all started with a 2 and a half hour car journey. We had a little trouble finding a car park space. Once we had parked up, we all stretched our legs. Me, Lily and Brandon all were very hungry so we sat down on the grass and ate our delicious lunches. After we had finished, we went to the gates of Windsor Castle and met the members performing from our band. They were feeling excited and nervous. We then went in and had to go through a security scanner and were then guided to where we would be standing. We watched the bands march in, it was loud and very exciting. After all of the amazing music, we met Bear Grylls who is the chief scout. Then, Princess Beatrice came round in her car with 6 or 7 guards protecting her. At the end of the day, we walked back to the car and had 2 ice creams each, Brandon dropped his on the floor. When we got back to the car, we had another 2 and a half hour journey back home.
